Boston Bruins Make A Statement In Route Of Detroit Red Wings

Bruins Put Wings In Their Back Pocket

Boston Bruins make a statement by putting up 6 goals in win over the Detroit Red Wings.

Bruins showing that they can score despite the critics that say offense is the problem. Boston scored their first four goals in the first period. That was the kind of start they needed after the terrible loss to the Ottawa Senators. The best part was the goals came from the guys you want them to. David Krejci started the scoring 11 minutes in, then Brad Marchand scored 1 minute later. Drew Stafford then decided to join the party for his first goal as a Bruin just another minute later, and what a goal it was. Krejci added the fourth goal of the period with just 15 seconds left in the period, for his second of the period. Tim Schaller was injured in the first period as well, more news to come.

Then to start the second period Brad Marchand scored his second goal of the game. Then Niklas Kronwall scored his first of the season. That was it for scoring in the second, but the Black and gold had tons of chances but Petr Mrazek who replaced Jared Coreau after the third goal.

In third period David Pastrnak did want to be left out of the scorecard so he added a goal of his own for the sixth and final goal of the game.

Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy was very happy with the win.

“We’ve talked about trying not to let those things bother you, bad shifts, bad periods,” Cassidy said. “Now it’s easier said than done, but if you start building that in that we’re not going to harp on what happened yesterday, we’re going to learn from it.”

The Bruins have won six of their last seven home games. Also David Pastrnak is on a 7 game point streak (two goal, seven assists). Marchand now has 70 points on the season. No Bruins has achieved 70 points since Marc Savard had 88 in 2008-09 season. Up next for the B’s is the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, for a bit of matinée action.
