Boston Bruins Prospects Update

Zach Senyshyn scored his 40th goal, while Ryan Donato receives Ivy League Honors and Bjork also reaches his own milestone.

Zach Senyshyn

Zach netted his 4oth goal of the season for the Sault Ste. Marie 2-1 win victory over Kitchner. He had the two goals that game, to reach the 41 goal mark in only 53 games. His 41 goals puts him 4th in the OHL. This is his second straight season with 40+ goals, and he is only 19. We may see him sooner rather than later.

Donato (Harvard sophomore) was named Ivy League player of the year. He also received First-Team All-Ivy honors, has been at the top of his game with 11 assists ans a team leading 18 goals. The Crimson are in the ECAC quarterfinals and will face Yale on Friday.

Anders Bjork Reaches a Milestone

Bjork (junior) finished his season with Notre Dame with 19 goals and 15 assists in 33 games. He has 38 goals and 63 assists for 101 points for his NCAA career. He joins his father Kurt in the fighting Irish 100-club.  The two are the first father son duo to to do so for Notre Dame. Bjork’s 44 points this season was good enough for 12th in the NCAA.

Boston Bruins Already Having Injury Problem

Bruins Injury Updates Have Begun

Today GM Don Sweeney has given an update on a few injured players.

Matt Beleskey who which is not a big deal since he might not even make the team is day-to-day with a foot contusion. This happened is the B’s last preseason game against the Montreal Canadiens

Jakub Forsbacka Karlsson is day-to-day as well with an upper-body injury that he received in the game against Detroit on September 19th. Hopefully, this is nothing because he was a kid that was slotted to make a roster spot.

Last is Torrey Krug who will be out for at least three weeks pending a re-evaluation at that time. He was hit in the jaw with the puck and suffered a non-displaced fracture. It occurred in the game against Detroit.

Also on another note, the team has sent Jack Studnicka and Kyle Keyser back to the OHL.

The biggest injury is with JFK, now some may say Krug but I think the B’s can find a replacement for him. McAvoy will most likely take over on the power play and maybe this opens the door for a guy like Rob O’Gara or Matt Grzelcyk. Other than these few hiccups Boston should be a fun team to watch this season. Especially if they stay as young as they have in camp and the preseason games.

Bruins Grab First Win Of The Preseason

Boston took on the Canadiens last night in Quebec City and came out with a victory. Last nights team was all about the kids. Unfortnitally the game was not aired on TV in Boston. the Bruins defeated Montreal 3-2.

From what I have read from people that saw the game is that the kids were very impressive. Tim Schaller, Anders Bjork, and Jesse Gabrielle were the goal scorers. As the whole, the team seems like they are in a good spot to be competitive this season. Especially with all of the prospects on the roster that are eyeing a spot in the big club.

The most impressive was last years NCAA Hobey Baker Finalist Anders Bjork. Bjork scored his first goal in a Bruins uniform last night. Also, the word on the street is that his chemistry with the team is growing. Look for him to grab a top-six spot on the roster heading into the season.

Here is Anders Bjork on his first goal in. A very hockey guy answer:
