Spooner out with Concussion, Czarnik Recalled

Ryan Spooner is out with a Concussion and Austin Czarnik has been recalled.

Ryan Spooner was diagnosed with a concussion and will be out indefinitely. The concussion came in the game against Ottawa in the third period. I do not remember seeing it. Spooner has been playing better of late, ever since Claude left really. Spooner has 11 goals and 23 assists in 65 games this season.

Austin Czarnik will be called up again to replace Spooner. There is a chance that he gets moved to a wing and David Backes will center the third line. I am hoping for that, Backes is a great player but he just does not fit on the wing. Czarnik has 5 goals and 8 assists in 47 games this season. He has 20 goals and 41 assists for Providence this season as well.

Czarnik is due to play in tonight’s game against Detroit. This is a must win after the massive fail they had against Ottawa.

Boston Bruins Already Having Injury Problem

Bruins Injury Updates Have Begun

Today GM Don Sweeney has given an update on a few injured players.

Matt Beleskey who which is not a big deal since he might not even make the team is day-to-day with a foot contusion. This happened is the B’s last preseason game against the Montreal Canadiens

Jakub Forsbacka Karlsson is day-to-day as well with an upper-body injury that he received in the game against Detroit on September 19th. Hopefully, this is nothing because he was a kid that was slotted to make a roster spot.

Last is Torrey Krug who will be out for at least three weeks pending a re-evaluation at that time. He was hit in the jaw with the puck and suffered a non-displaced fracture. It occurred in the game against Detroit.

Also on another note, the team has sent Jack Studnicka and Kyle Keyser back to the OHL.

The biggest injury is with JFK, now some may say Krug but I think the B’s can find a replacement for him. McAvoy will most likely take over on the power play and maybe this opens the door for a guy like Rob O’Gara or Matt Grzelcyk. Other than these few hiccups Boston should be a fun team to watch this season. Especially if they stay as young as they have in camp and the preseason games.

Bruins Grab First Win Of The Preseason

Boston took on the Canadiens last night in Quebec City and came out with a victory. Last nights team was all about the kids. Unfortnitally the game was not aired on TV in Boston. the Bruins defeated Montreal 3-2.

From what I have read from people that saw the game is that the kids were very impressive. Tim Schaller, Anders Bjork, and Jesse Gabrielle were the goal scorers. As the whole, the team seems like they are in a good spot to be competitive this season. Especially with all of the prospects on the roster that are eyeing a spot in the big club.

The most impressive was last years NCAA Hobey Baker Finalist Anders Bjork. Bjork scored his first goal in a Bruins uniform last night. Also, the word on the street is that his chemistry with the team is growing. Look for him to grab a top-six spot on the roster heading into the season.

Here is Anders Bjork on his first goal in. A very hockey guy answer:
