Boston Bruins Seem Content With Where They Are At Ahead Of The NHL Entry Draft
With the NHL expansion draft now behind the Boston Bruins, the team is now looking forward to the draft. But with the loss of Colin Miller one could question how the team feels about their defensive group.
But according to GM Don Sweeney, his is comfortable with the current 6 projected defensive starters.
“We feel very comfortable with the six guys we have on our roster right now…the group itself has a lot of depth to it”
As for the upcoming draft, Sweeney likes where Boston is positioned and there could be some moving of picks.
“We feel good about where we’re picking right now. We’ve had some talks in moving either direction, and moving the pick.”
On the RFA side of the business, the Boston Bruins have several big name players including the budding star, David Pastrnak. Sweeney seemed to have his thoughts in order and it appears Boston will start contract negotiations with the players they want to retains shortly after the NHL Entry Draft.
“We have [made decisions], but I haven’t contacted them yet…I’ll do that as soon as we get done with the draft.”
