#3: Brad Marchand
Brad Marchand joined the Boston Bruins when he was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Hw was a bit of an unknown when he was drafted.
Marchand has been with the Boston Bruins for 8 seasons and has been one of the team’s top goal scorers. Over the past 8, season and 534 games played Marchy has 374 points (192 G, 182 A). This past year he finished 4th in the league for most goals with 39. He was on track to win the Maurice Richard trophy but did something stupid and had to serve a suspension. In Marchand’s second year he was a part of the Stanley Cup Winning team in 2011, and he was also a big part of those playoffs.
During the 2010-11 playoffs, Marchy had 19 points (11 G, 8 A), in 25 games. In his entire playoff career, Marchand has skated in 72 games with 43 points (17 G, 26 A). He has not played very good these past few playoff appearances that were partially due to the team as a whole. Look for him to want more if the team ends in the playoffs this year.
Marchand is a very exciting player to watch. He is the kind of player you only like because he is on your team. Marchand is known as a bit of a rat around the league. While I agree with that a bit due to a few stupid incidents he has been involved in. Marchand still remains one of the Bruins best scorers and continues to improve every year. I enjoy the guy’s skill but I think he needs to lose some of the dirty play, not get rid of all of it because that is the type of player he is. What he needs to get rid of are the chip shots.
