Boston Celtics Rumor: Jonas Jerebko Going To Utah Jazz
The Boston Celtics snagged Gordon Hayward away from the Jazz in free agency. So maybe it is only fair for them to take an eye for an eye. If that eye happens to be forward Jonas Jerebko than Boston is probably pretty happy with it.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Utah Jazz signed forward Jonas Jerebko to a two-year contract worth $8.2 million.
Jerebko was a solid role player off the bench for the Celtics and played for Boston for two and a half seasons after trading Tayshaun Prince to the Detroit Pistons (Gigi Datome was also in that trade).
The Swedish-born player averaged 2.8 pts and 3.5 rb’s last seasons in 78 regular season appearances while shooting 43.5 percent from the field. Jonas was able to earn minutes off the bench by impressing Celtics coach Brad Stevens with his determination and hard work.
Jerebko is 30-years-old and saw his most efficient time with Boston come at the stretch four with a sometimes electric ability to drill shots from beyond the arc. Jerebko was a 37.2% shooter from deep.
