Boston Celtics Rumor: Ainge Not Willing To Part With Big Pieces For Indiana Pacers Star-Foward Paul George
The Boston Celtics have the most to offer the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Paul George. But rumor has it, they are not willing to part with many of their big pieces to acquire the star forward.
ESPN’s Zach Lowe reports the Celtics haven’t offered any of the following players or pieces for George: Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, the 2018 Nets pick, and the Lakers-Kings pick they received from the 76ers earlier this month.
Lowe then speculates the package he thinks Boston has put on the table:
“My best guess on Boston’s standing George offer: Jae Crowder, Smart and Indiana’s choice of protected first-round picks Boston owns from the Clippers and Grizzlies,” he writes.
“That doesn’t meet Indiana’s goal of nabbing a top-10 pick or an equivalent talent. The Celtics will be reluctant to bid any higher given the risk of George bolting to the Lakers in a year.”
