Boston Celtics Win Game Two Against Wizards With Isaiah Thomas Dropping 50+ Points
The Boston Celtics defeated the Washington Wizards in game 2 of the NBA playoffs second round behind guard Isaiah Thomas dropping 53 points to carry the C’s to an overtime victory.
Game two was truly the battle of the guards with John Wall scoring 40 point for Washington and IT scoring 53 points, but the battle was won by IT and the C’s as they won the game 129-119.
Thomas’ s 53 points was actually 1 off of the Celtics playoff record set by hall of famer John Havlicek who scored 54 points back on April 1st of 1973 in the first round of that NBA playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks.
Celtics head coach Brad Stevens has no words for what Thomas has been able to do with all the adversity he has had to face in this playoff season.
“I don’t know what else there is to say,” Brad Stevens said. “I thought Isaiah was really going to have to gut this one out and he goes out and scores 50.”
With the win the Boston Celtics are up 2-0 on the Wizards as the game moves to Washington on Thursday for game 3 of the series.
