Boston Red Sox Pitcher Matt Barnes Needs Your Help After His Girlfriends Dad Passes Away
Last week, Boston Red Sox pitcher Matt Barnes took to twitter asking for help. A few weeks ago, his girlfriends father passed away suddenly after an unexpected stroke and a short battle of cancer. This left the family with over $350,000 in medical bills.
At Trifecta Sports Network, we are reaching out to our readers to help the family pay for the medical bills. They have a go fund me set up and you can find that link right here. You can read the message Matt Barnes sent out to on twitter below.
Matt Barnes has become a critical part of the Red Sox bullpen over the last few years. He’s helped the team, and now his family needs the help of fans. Every dollar helps the family. If you cant, sharing the message helps out just as much.
I know that there is a stigma that Major League Baseball players are paid millions of dollars, but according to Baseball References, his pay in 2017 is $563,500. Yes that is a ton of money, but it is also 62% of his yearly salary. No one can afford that, especially when you’re working 16 hours a day, everyday from mid-February until the end of September, at minimum.
