Boston Celtics Rumors: Boston is on Blake Griffin’s Short List In Terms Of His NBA Cities Mt.Rushmore.
There have been ample rumors connecting free agent Blake Griffin and the Boston Celtics including one last week where the Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Celtics were “the danger” that could draw Griffin away from Los Angeles. But this week Griffin said Boston is on his Mount Rushmore of NBA Cities.
Los Anglees Clippers Forward Blake Griffin had a recent interview on Barstool Sports’ “and he said aid he would put Boston on his Mt. Rushmore of NBA cities. Other metropolitan areas that made the cut were New York, Phoenix and Toronto.
When asked jokingly whether only “half” of him likes Boston –– Griffin is 50 percent black –– he briefly touched on the city’s racial history. “Half of me loves it,” he said. “The other half is hit-and-miss. It depends on who I run into. It depends on what story I’m reading about people being heckled at a Red Sox game.”
He said he didn’t include Los Angeles or Oklahoma City, because he’s lived in both of those places. Griffin also talked about his desire to mix his list up, which is why he included Phoenix.
“I wanted to stay away from going, like, New York, Miami, Chicago, LA,” he said. “Because those are big, fun cities to be in. It’s like I wanted to give a little character to my Mt. Rushmore. It’s like Phoenix is like the Teddy Roosevelt.”
Griffin, is 28-years-old and has averaged 21.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per contest during his career.
