Don Orsillo And Jerry Remy Reunited In Houston

Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy went together like peanut butter and jelly, they made boring Boston Red Sox baseball games interesting. Two years ago NESN decided to move away from Orisillo in favor of Dave O’Brien whose contract was up over at WEEI.

NESN executives grossly underestimated the fanbases love for the duo with the network continuing to not get what it’s viewers want from their broadcasts.

The awkwardness of the broadcasts the last two years paired with O’Brien still calling games like he is on the radio have made many fans wish Orsillo was back in their homes. This past weekend we all got a little taste of it.

This weekend, Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy reunited in Houston, with Orsillo on the call for Red Sox-Astros Saturday on Fox.

In an interview with WEEI’s Rob Bradford, Orsillo talked about how nice it was to see the Red Sox again.

“It is good to see all of these guys –– Mookie [Betts>, Jackie Bradley Jr. It’s great to see these guys. They’re friends of mine who I’ve had for years,” he said. “I did a lot of hugging. It was good to be hugged –– it was good to see those guys. Any time the Red Sox are on, which is usually before our games, I’ll always pay attention and know what’s going on here, because it’s always an event. That’s for sure.”

Red Sox Continue To Be Cryptic On David Price

The Boston Red Sox have been very cryptic on the status of pitcher David Price. Price has been on the DL for quite some time now after initially shrugging the injury off claiming it wasn’t anything serious.

But in the last couple of weeks the Red Sox and John Farrell, in particular, have been very secretive and unsure of his status. The issue is, the opportunity for a rehab start isn’t looking realistic. Price has yet to throw off a mound and with the minor league seasons starting to close in the coming weeks, Price’s season may be done.

Farrell made a comment ahead of Wednesday nights game with the Indians where he claims he is being “realistic”.

I don’t know if I was pessimistic. I think I was just being realistic with that he was currently involved in when you realistically look at the calender and then what the progression is needed to get back to that. I’m not ruling it out, but I think at the same time being realistic.

“Untill he gets on a mound, that’s when we’ll start to get a better idea of connecting to the end date”.

Price remains on the 10-day-dl which he was placed on July 28th with left elbow inflammation. He has been able to throw off of flat ground, but the mound is still an obstacle he has yet to face.

Price has a 3.82 ERA in 11 starts for Boston this season with 66 innings pitched. Right now, it is fair to question why the Boston Red Sox and Price didn’t opt for Tommy John Surgery when this issue first kicked up back in Spring Training.

Pawtucket Red Sox Lose 6-2 To Bisons Despite Good Start By Elias

The Pawtucket Red Sox dropped game 2 of their 4 game series with the Buffalo Bisons on Tuesday night 6-2 at McCoy Stadium. There were 6,502 fans at McCoy Stadium tonight.

Roenis Elias Pitched much better then what his pitching line showed. He gave up 4 runs in 7 innings, but it should have only been 2 run. Elias was also pretty close to doing something that Craig Kimbrel and Rick Porcello have done this season.

The Paw Sox saw all of their offense from a two run home run from Matt Dominguez in the 4th inning. It was a home run that barley got out of the park.
