Former New England Patriots DT Vince Wilfork Announces Retirement

Former New England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork has announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday. He announced his retirement via his Twitter page

Wilfork was drafted by the Patriots with the 21st overall pick in 2004, Wilfork spent the first 11 seasons of his NFL career with the Patriots, winning Super Bowls with the team in 2005 and 2015, to go with five Pro Bowl and All-Pro team selections. Wilfork also ranks 14th on the club’s all-time tackles list, with 355 tackles in 158 games played.

Big Vince has played the last two seasons of his career with the Houston Texans.

His Twitter video concluded with the announcement that he will be holding a farewell tailgate party at Gillette Stadium on Sept. 7 before the team raises their Super Bowl LI banner against the Chiefs in the NFL’s first game of the season.
