New England Patriots Sign Free Agent Wide Receiver And Former Cleveland Brown Andrew Hawkins To A One Year Deal

The New England Patriots are in win now mode, they have made countless acquisitions this offseason in the attempt to repeat as Super Bowl Champions. On Wednesday another new addition was announced with the signing of free agent wide receiver Andrew Hawkins who took to Uninterrupted to announce the signing with New England.

The signing was then confirmed via ESPN’s Adam Schefter who has reported the deal as a one year deal for the former Cleveland Browns receiver. Hawkins is 31-years-old and had 33 receptions on 54 targets for 3 touchdowns for the Browns last season. He has had the unfortunate pleasure of having less than average quarterbacks who change as often as a pair of underwear, so in theory there is a potential for him to come into New England and have a career year.

Hawkins is a slot receiver by nature and joins the offseason acquisition pool that includes Brandin Cooks, Rex Burkhead, Dwayne Allen, and Mike Gillislee.
