Patriots Talk: Danny Amendola Takes Pay Cut and Team Offers for Mike Gillislee

The Patriots have done a lot this off-season, but its still far from over. According to the latest reports, it would seem that Patriots [Wide Receiver] Danny Amendola  has decided to take another pay cut. This would be his second in his career with the Patriots. His expected amount was originally 6 million next season. (It’s unknown how much he will be making but the expected amount to be more than the 3 million he earned last season according to Ian Rapoport)

In addition, Patriots have given their offer sheet to the Buffalo Bills for [Running Back] Mike Gillislee. The restricted free agent came to the Patriots last week and it seems he left an appreciation. Ian Rapoport’s sources told him that the Patriots current offer will be for two years worth 6.4 million (4 million for his first year with team; the highest amount for any Running Back under the current roster).

LeGarrette Blount is likely not making a return to the team if the offer isn’t matched by the Bills before the trade deadline on April 21st. If the Bills fail to match the offer, the Patriots forfeit their 5th Round pick for the 2017 NFL Draft for Gillislee. With this, the Patriots roster would be filled for the 2017 season before the NFL draft and training camp is already underway.
