Patriots Talk: Boston Globe Interview Reveals Tom Brady’s Mother Finished Her Cancer Treatment Two Months Ago
We are all celebrating with the Patriots over Super Bowl 51 and all the high expectations that 2017 will bring. Tom Brady has been a nonstop subject this offseason regarding anything that so much comes out of his mouth (or rather whatever doesn’t come out) However, it seems that Tom Brady has much more of a reason to celebrate than most. His father, Tom Brady Sr. had a recent interview with the Boston Globe this past week and in it he revealed that his mother, Galynn, finished her cancer treatment about two months ago. (sometime in April more than likely)
For the Brady family, this news when it first came to them must have been a sign of relief. Her son dedicated his victory in Super Bowl 51 to her, many Patriot players and fans have thrown out their support for her.Brady Sr. mentioned that her treatment afterwards has been progressing with sports such as golf in her spare time. However for his mother, Brady Sr. is still worried it could resurface.
“I think in the dark recesses of every cancer survivor is the thought it could reappear. We simply pray now that after her treatment, it never rears its ugly head again,” Brady Sr. said.
This is one that many people can agree on. Just today, it was revealed that long time color analyst for the Boston Red Sox, Jerry Remy, will be undergoing surgery for his lung cancer again as it he has been re-diagnosed with the disease. It’s unfortunate that cancer is one disease that seemingly cannot leave a person no matter what, and our thoughts and prayers should always be with survivors like Galynn and Jerry who continue to fight onwards despite all of this.
