Red Sox Great Pedro Martinez Has Advice For David Price On Handling The Media In Boston
The stories coming out on Red Sox pitcher David Price and his clash the media have not portrayed the pitcher in a positive light. Price had an expletive tirad on Wednesday night directed towards members of the media who were present. One Boston legend has some advice for the media troubled pitcher.
Pedro Martinez‘s impact on the Red Sox cannot be quantified, in addition to being a Hall of Fame pitcher, Pedro helped bring David Ortiz to Boston and has been a helpful pitching guide to young pitchers such as Eduardo Rodriguez. Now the retired Hall of Famer has some advice for David Price.
I think Price need to realize that who he in Boston is going to draw attention. He just has to keep his answers honest with the media.
The history in Boston has always been the same. Boston is a small town and the Sox are the number one team. The attention is always there

Pedro is right, do what Chris Sale does and only talk on the days he starts. Price said that was his plan going forward, but his lashing out on the media in the clubhouse on Wednesday did not support that. One thing that will help him is pitching well, but that wasn’t something he was able to do on Thursday in the Bronx.
Price started for Boston on Thursday night against the New York Yankees, and he went 5 innings allowing 6 runs on 8 hits while walking 4 Yankee batters. Not a great outing, but Price has shown promise in his three starts this season after returning from injury. With John Farrell talking to him postgame about how to handle the media, maybe, just maybe he can turn around his experience in Boston.
