Boston Bruins look and play like a real Playoff Team

On [Wednesday] the Boston Bruins played Playoff caliber Hockey.  Taking a win against the Calgary Flames.  This was the second win of their 4 game road trip.  They beat the Vancouver Canucks on [Monday].

Bruins [Goaltender] Anton Khudobin played well.  Aside from letting in a Blue Line goal, he made 21 saves on the night.  Giving the Bruins an opportunity to go ahead in the game.  The Bruins fell behind [1-0] in the first period.  Something that we have seen plague them in the past them but they kept it close and ended up breaking a [2-2] tie with a score by [Forward] David Backes.  Going [3-2] into the 3rd Period they never looked back.  They really poured it on in the 3rd Period with 11 minutes left in the game.  Scoring twice to ice it [5-2] for the win.

[Forward] Brad Machand played his usual self, with an MVP type year.  He scored early on pumping up the Bruins and making the game close.  He really energized the Team at the right moment.  As of Yesterdays game he leads the NHL in scoring, just one up of Sidney Crosby.

[Forward] David Backes had a scary moment on the ice in the first period.  He went down in the corner boards.  He blew a skate and fell, landing awkwardly on his knee.  It looked bad at first.  He had to be carried off the ice by fellow teammates.  He immediately went to the locker room to get checked out.  To a great relief he came back into the game ready to go in the second period.  He ended up scoring giving the Bruins the go ahead, game winning, goal.  David Backes is a real Hockey player.  His toughness to comeback in the game speaks volumes.  It’s something that we have come to expect out of this Bruins Team.  A real willingness to keep playing hard in close games.

The Bruins are really thirsty to make it to the Playoffs and with 12 games left in the regular season, they are that much closer to making it.  [Thursday] game against the Edmonton Oilers will surely be a must watched game.  The Bruins are on a roll and they are playing fantastic Hockey.  It will be interesting to see if they can nab another win on this road trip.
