The Open, Brendan Grace Shoots A Historic 62 In Round 3

The Open, Brendan Grace Shoots A Historic 62 In Round 3

History has been made in round 3 of The Open Championship.

Golfer Branden Grace made history Saturday morning by shooting a 62 at the Open, the lowest score in major championship history.

The 29-year-old South African had 29 strokes on the front 9 and came back in with  33 on the back. Grace made birdies at the first, fourth, fifth, eighth, ninth, 14th, 16th and 17th holes

Grace started the day 4 over and in a tie for 45th place and finished at 4 under and just two shots out of the lead held by Jordan Spieth, who hadn’t teed off yet when Grace finished his round.

Still, a lot of golf to be played in round 3 at this point, but for the moment, Grace is the highlight.

Also in fairness to Rickie Fowler. Fowler probably had the greatest shot of the round.
