Boston Wins Third Straight

Boston Bruins defeated the Dallas Stars Last night 2-0.  This win comes at a time where every win counts. Last night was a great game overall as Tuukka Rask gets the shutout. Will the Bruins make the playoffs this year?

First Period:

Boston came out strong against a Dallas team that is struggling. Brad Marchand scores his 38 goal of the season. Last season Marhy scored 37  This is a career high for him. With 7 games left he may reach the 40 goal mark. His goal came from a David Backes pass, and Marchy was able to bounce the puck off Anti Niemi and in. That was it for the first.

Second Period:

The Bruins started the second on the power play and they made it count. The Stars are in last place in the league in penalty kill. Torey Krug scored on a back-door pass from David Pastrnak. The goal was Krug’s 50th point which is a career high for him. Tuukka Rask continued to play strong keeping the Stars off the board.

Third Period:

There were no goal scored in the third. Dallas had a great push back but Rask and the Bruins help it off. This was a big win, as the Bruins played solid D especially rookie Brandon Carlo who looked great out there.

“It’s crunch time,” rookie blueliner Brandon Carlo said after the win over Dallas. “We all realize that, so we’re just trying to make the simple plays and get the puck to the forwards and out through the neutral zone. At times we get caught, but at the same time, we’re following the play up, and getting behind the play a little bit more.”

Adam McQuaid suffered an injury and did not return to the game, more news to come about that.

Rask Secured his 7th shutout of the season with last nights win, he has played well since his injury.

Up Next:

Boston has a tough week ahead of them as they face Florida tomorrow then Chicago on Sunday. Then the final three games of the season at home. Facing Tampa Bay, Ottawa, and Washington. They will need to win two of three. Those two need to be against the Lightning and Senators.
