The Bruins are trying to lose!
The Bruins have once again flip-flopped on who they want backing up Tuukka Rask.
Khudobin has played in only eight games with the Bruins. He only has one win in those eight games. Doby has a horrendous 3.06 GAA, and a .885 save percentage. He also appeared in 11 games with Providence and had a record of 7-3-1 with a 2.61 GAA and .896 save percentage. That is still terrible especially for a NHL goalie who is playing in the AHL.
Khudobin was signed in the offseason because the Bruins thought that he played well when he was here in 2011-13 seasons. The only problem is he is “old” at 30, at least in goalie terms.
I have no idea what the Bruins are thinking.
McIntyre, is only 24. He has played in seven games for the Bruins, with a 0-3-1 record. McIntyre had a 3.95 GAA, and a .860 save percentage. Also he played in 13 games for the PB’s. Down in Providence he had better luck, he was 11-0-0 with a 1.44 GAA and .950 save percentage. He was sent a few weeks ago but that was only to allow him to play in the AHL All-Star game.
I do not blame either of the goalies for some of the Bad numbers. They are the ones stopping the puck though, but they also need a team to play in front of them. The Bruins are notorious for not playing in front of their backups. This is why they have missed the playoffs these past two season. This forced former head coach Claude Julien to overplay Rask, making him gassed towards the end of the season. We are seeing this now.
I hope they do not make the playoffs so we will be able to see some bigger changes.
