Bruins Have Added Some Depth
Earlier today General Manager Don Sweeney announced that the team has signed Ryan Fitzgerald from Boston College to a two-year-entry-level contract starting with the 2017-18 season. Fitzgerald just finished his career for the Eagles where he served as assistant captain this season. In his NCAA career he played in 152 games tallying 66 goals and 66 assists for 132 points. He also had 179 penalty minutes and was a plus 42. Fitzgerald is not the biggest guy standing at only 5-foot-10, and 177 pounds. He will help bring another scoring touch to a lineup that has seen much more offense of late.
Fitzgerald is a North Reading Mass. native and was drafted 120th overall in 2013.
Johansson played his last two season over in Sweden and played for HV71. He played in 85 games with 2 goals and nine assists with 24 penalty minutes. Another small guy standing at only 6 feet and 194 pounds. I do not know much more about him other than that so I am excited to see what he can bring the Bruins Blue-line.
Johansson is from Vaxjo, Sweden and was drafted in the 7th round in 2014.
Fitzgerald will join the Providence Bruins on an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO) and Johansson will join them on a Professional Tryout Agreement for the rest of their season.
