Patriots Talk: Marshawn Lynch Privately Expressed Interest in joining NE
Many in the NFL have heard rumors that former Seattle Seahawks [Running back] Marshawn Lynch (a.k.a Beast Mode) is coming out of retirement. This came over a week ago when Lynch expressed interest in joining with his hometown team; The Las Vegas Raiders. (formerly the Oakland Raiders) While Lynch hasn’t played since the end of the 2015 NFL season, it is quite evident that there is speculation on how much he still has left in the tank.
There is currently no update on whether Lynch and the Raiders will come to an agreement. However, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, recently twitted out that the retired running back has privately expressed interest in playing for the New England Patriots. It was reinstated that this is a long shot, but only if negotiations break down between Lynch and the Raiders.
Lynch to Pats may be viewed as a long shot. But the sentiment exists.

The likelihood of this becoming a possibility is very slim as Lynch still needs to follow this trade through his team, the Seahawks. The team will either have the option to release or trade him. The NFL is always a business first and everyone knows that, the Patriots and Seahawks have already toggled with trades when it came to [cornerback] Richard Sherman.
According to the latest report, LeGarrette Blount will not sign back with the Patriots. (He was given an offer by the team at the start of free agency) This makes it clear the team needs someone to come in to fulfill their power back role, and considering that Beast Mode was arguably one of the best at that position, the offer will be too good to pass up. (It is possible that this rumor is to drive costs up with the Raiders but there isn’t any certainty)
