Patriots Talk: Newly Acquired Receiver Brandin Cooks Excited To Work With Tom Brady
Newly acquired New England Patriots receiver Brandin Cooks is already heaping praises down on the Super Bowl winning franchise.
When speaking to Patriots.com Cooks seemed eager to get on the field and start catching passes from Future Hall of Famer Tom Brady.
“The opportunity to play for an organization like this is a dream come true and it’s a blessing,” Cooks said to Patriots.com on Monday. “I couldn’t be more thankful. To be able to play with someone that is going to be a Hall of Famer [Tom Brady], a guy who is so competitive, that is what you look forward to and I am just thankful for the opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.”
Cooks seemed delighted to come into an atmosphere where the one and only thing that matters is winning football games and inevitably winning Super Bowl rings.
“This is a first-class place,” he said. “The type of place you would love to be apart of. When we practiced against them it was always competitive and this is the type of team you want to go against to better yourself, and to be on a team like this now, it’s amazing.”
Cooks who happens to only be 23-years-old has shown a lot of promise playing for the New Orleans Saints and in theory he should be deep outside threat for Brady to utilize, an option he really hasn’t had since the years of Randy Moss. The Patriots have brought in receivers before that haven’t panned out such as Chad Johnson and Reggie Wayne, so for Cooks only time will tell if he is willing to put in the work to be successful here in New England.
