New England Revolution Officially Unveil Academy Residency Program As Bruce Arena Continues To Build The Base

Look around the world, the youth movement in soccer is very much real and in MLS academies have started to pump out players.

New England’s own academy has added several contributors to the first team with the likes of Scott Caldwell and Diego Fagundez highlighting the successes of the program. But more is needed, more investment and resources allocated into building the development of youth soccer in the area.

On Friday the Revolution officially announced their residency program with the now Bruce Arena led organization understanding the importance of stepping up their youth game.

The residency program will kick off in the 2019-20 season with players living full-time in a local residence owned by the club. Players will be living under the supervision of the Academy staff and will make it easier for players that don’t live within short distance of Gillette to have the opportunity to live on-site.

Huge step in the right direction for the club.

In addition to the confirmation of the residency program the Academy has posted its roster of 70 players from the New England area that have been selected to participate on the various Academy teams.

The 12th season of the academy will kick off this weekend on August 31st. Below is a full roster of the 70 players.
