Boston Red Sox Win With JBJ Hitting A Grand Slam In ALCS, Boston Now Leads 2-1 Over The Houston Astros

Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a grand slam in the 8th inning of Boston’s 8-2 victory over the Houston Astros to take a 2-1 series lead in the ALCS. It was quite the moment for the Red Sox centerfielder, in-fact, it might be his finest moment yet.

Bradley has long been a target of mine, mostly for his underproduction at the plate and the over-rating those in the Boston market tend to do in regards to his defense patrolling center. But recording a Grand Slam two days after a bases clearing double to help break open game 2 has shown the true colors of Bradley.

Year after year in big moments Bradley would swing over the top of a breaking ball in the dirt and strike out, but not this time, this time it appears that Bradley has figured it all out.

But it wasn’t all Bradley, Boston got 6 solid innings out of Nathan Eovaldi who was excellent in yet another postseason start with Alex Cora getting an extra (6th) inning out of him in comparison to AJ Hinch who pulled his starter, Dallas Keuchel, after 5 innings of work. A decision for both clubs that could play huge in the midst of three straight days with games.

Boston will be back at it in Houston on Wednesday night at 8:39 pm et with Rick Porcello on the mound taking on Charlie Morton of the Astros.

Until then, enjoy David Ortiz‘s reaction to the JBJ blast.
