MLL Debuts New Jerseys For Their 20th Season

Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Debuts New Jerseys For Their 20th Season That Will Take Place This Summer

On Monday Major League Lacrosse (MLL) released the brand new New Balance Shakedown Jersey design for all six of their teams. The jersey’s according to the league was inspired by the heat shield protection that NASA uses on their space shuttles.

“Playing in 100-degree heat and 100% humidity, in Annapolis, in July can be brutal with a heavy jersey weighing you down,” said Bayhawks goalie, Brian Phipps. “These jerseys breathe, they move with you and they weigh just a fraction of last year’s jerseys. Playing with the Shakedown this year will make moving, clearing and surviving the heat, much easier.”

All teams will have both home and away jersey’s and all designs were done in a collaborative effort between MLL, the teams, and New Balance. On the Boston Cannons uniform their new jersey partner, Suffolk Construction, will be featured on the design for their uniforms.

The actual fabric of the jersey is called Trizar which is patented by New Balance and is not actually available for release and will debut with MLL. In the league’s press release they said the product will “debut this summer with MLL” as the league continues to publicly portray that they will play this Summer but have yet to announce any actual details surrounding their return to play and we are now at June 22nd.
