Red Sox To Use McCoy Stadium As Taxi Squad Site

The Boston Red Sox hosted a Zoom call with reporters on Wednesday night with Team President Sam Kennedy and President of Baseball Operations Chaim Bloom.

While the conversation talked about return to play, procedures, roster, and things of that nature, the conversation did shift to taxi squad site location. And what location did Red Sox brass name? McCoy Stadium, home of the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Boston will have a 30-man roster on game days to start the season but a 60-man player pool overall. The taxi squad location is a site for players to work out and potentially hold scrimmages which is what McCoy would play host to.

This was meant to be the final season at McCoy with the PawSox moving to Worcester for next season if Polar Park is completed in time.
